Geotechnical nightmares

I started the day in Richmond . Found what is a common occurance there, loads of ground water. Basically , we excavate about 4 feet of earth, and hit the fraser river. This is a major headache to remedy, having to remove huge amounts of earth , and then refilling with sand and gravel crush. I feel sorry for the developers, who always think that doing foundations will be a breeze as far as time & money. Suckers.

Rachel is a mover and a shaker. Thankyou for finding a motor for my car window from a wrecker for a fraction of the retail. I also lucked out today and was given a free phone, from a random facebook user... I called him and he is heck of a nice guy, so thanks Lee.! Things were starting to turn back into my favor today... I'm going to have to do some serious running around tomorrow though.

Rachel and I did two serious power walking laps around trout lake today, weights in hand, good brisk feeling. Planning for three tomorrow. I'm off to do some chores. Signing off....

Sunday in May

Purchased a new phone today, an item that always seems overpriced. Chalk it up to a neccesary evil I suppose. Rachel and I celebrated our "Free day" (eating WHATEVER we want), by going for steak & eggs, and having hot dogs and salad for dinner. Did somebody say ice cream...

I'm off to Richmond tomorrow to oversee my foreman friends job while he's in Scotland getting married. Congrats Josh, hope you and you bonny have a great time.

Sat her day

Attended a party called 'The Manley Cup" last night . It was an air hockey tournament. Didn't stay to win, just played a quick game with Chipper. It's a nice overcast saturday. Rachel is choked at me for sleeping over at Jasons'. Oh well, she'll get over it... still better than D & D or cab fare... pretty comfortable bed too guys! Saw some old friends last night.. met a couple new ones.. east van friendliness was in good order. Just listening to some "Beatles" hangin with Conan trying to figure out what to eat. I'm going to have to go phone shopping today or tomorrow...mine has given up the ghost. A rather plain sat. considering all the "things" I planned yesterday. Arguing with the boss throws a wrench into regular plans. Darn sleepy Roy.

Friday inMay

I worked in North Van today. It's always nice to be close to those to those north shore mountains THIS time of year. Ken and I were in a comedic groove, enjoying this friday perhaps a bit more than we should have. On a downer note, I am experiencing some annoying car troubles... my drivers side window's motor has quit, stealing my groovin Fri. vibes and $$ and relocating them to the Nissan dealership.. Goddang electronics! P.s. Thankyou Ken for the portable spears for my MP3 player...who from now I shall refer to as "BOB" (Less sylables speaking) I'm now mobile with tunes. Crutial.
On a brighter note , I'm heading to Nuotio's tonight for his roomates , Milon's, B-day celebration. These parties are always funny, if not a little messy.... won't stay up to late though... too much to do tomorrow.

Just home from this evenings softball match. It was a hard fought character battle , but we ,diamonds managed to squeak out a two run win. Props to Carl for playing an allstar game tonight , with 2 homers, and some immpecable defense. Personally, I worked out by batting bugs and hit two solid base hits. Go Diamonds!! 3 & 0 to start the season.

Initial Posting.

Iv'e just discovered how easy it is to start a blog. I've been playing catchup the last few months since I purchased a new "Dell". Anyone wanting to keep an eye on my day to day will now have an opportunity to see what makes Roy tick. I can just feel the subscriptions go through the roof! I am just home from work and am preparing to leave for my 6:00 softball game. I play in a government league and my team is called "The Diamonds" . Tonight we play "the rockers". A worthy opponent indeed. I 've been working on my fielding drills this week , so I am shooting for no errors on 2nd base this evening. My batting is also needing a bit of a facelift, having popped out the last two at bats. Take me out to the ball game!
